This chap shipped his TA over using roll on-roll off. He now has it for sale. Read on to hear what he has to say.......
"Here I've for sale what's left of my 1979 Special 10th Anniversary Pontiac Firebird Trans Am this car was and still is a 100% rust free TA. 78,000 miles on the clock. I purchased this vehicle just on 2 months ago, and while shipping RORO by H#### #########s the damage you see occurred.
But at least they said sorry, NOT! the asking price is to cover my freight - towing - ports fees etc etc."

Yep not good at all, I myself have never had trouble with roll on- roll off.
He may have only owned it for 2 months but atleast it wasn't a life long build that a lot of blood sweat and tears went into. Not saying that it's okay to trash someones dream car, but you'd be mad to ship a car without insurance whether it be container or roll on-roll off.
Maybe CPU you should put up some pics of the damage that happens in containers when straps and timber stands fail.

Was not inferring one is better than other if it was taken that way. Just posting what I thought may be of interest after it was sent to me by a friend.
Apologies if any offence taken by anyone

Everyone's out to save a buck, skip some steps, skip some people, take some shortcuts, thinking they can do it better themselves.. like anything in life, its a gamble.
Sometimes the dice rolls the wrong way.

It would seem the Trans Am is living in Melb.
What a shame but these things do happen...
