No, oil pressure will not be higher. No oil filter will create oil pressure. Some very old or cheap oil filters, which did not have a anti drain back valve fitted (rubber flap on the ring of holes, stopping the oil from draining back out) would cause "Ryco Rattle" on start up, waiting for the filter to fill up, but that isn't an issue anymore.

Okay

I bought a Baldwin filter recommended on the FE forum , definitely improved oil pressure (on the gauge anyway).

I think it uses glass beads as the filter medium

baldwin B2-HPG

fits a treat anyway

Drop B.  If you check out the Ryco site. they recommend that the old Z10 is is the new Z89A...  Shouldn;t cause oil pressure prob's or bleed back.

I thought that putting a magnetic sump plug in the sump and in the trans pan would be a great idea, before reality hit.
Magnets only attract ferrous metals, in particular low grade steel (not stainless) and iron.
What iron parts wear in an auto, and to a lesser extent, an engine? Most parts in an auto are alloy, stainless or kevlar, and bearings in engines are not magnetic either. your crank doesn't wear, nor your block, in any big way.
Sort of a non event really. I guess if you DO find metal on the magnet, your in the poop.
