Importing new stangers
« on: July 30, 2011, 05:18:54 am »
Hi gang, there may be a post already discussing this but I didnt see one, if anyone would like to post a past forum link I'd be more than happy to peruse it.

If there isn't, my questions in this... I have a 65 hardtop which is a wonderful weekender, but Ive been checking out some of the new stangs and they're pretty mean looking. Not coming under classic car exemption, if I was to bring one in, would it have to be converted to right hand drive? And if so, does anyone know what costs? Also are there any further modifications that would be required to get the car registered in Aus?

Thanks!!

G

Hi
the rules are car must be pre 1989 to import under that scheme, car must be 30 years old to stay lhd, anything else is going to cost you a bundle
