Hi everyone, i want to buy a pristine mustang pre 69 convertible. I was looking at the the Classic Speed Inc mustangs that are rotisserie restored in the Philippines. Does anyone have any feedback or experience with this company. Any help would be very much appreciated. Also if anyone has a high quality convertible for sale please contact me. I called Classic Speed and they send you a pricelist with available cars, a DVD, and lot's of information. Give them a call they'll send it all to you. At the higher end $$$ but you get a perfect car I guess. It would be great to get some feedback though. He said 99% are sold to Australia so maybe some one on the forum has one??

I don't know. Someone said that they use lots of Asian repo parts, but as long as you don't mind a lack of originality, you'll likely get a real pretty car.

I went to the factory in Angeles City earlier this year, from what I could see they do a good job.  The body prep looked comprehensive and the finish was really nice.  They can sell you one that's fairly original (repro parts not withstanding) or something with four wheel wilwoods,  coil over and a four link. I thought that if you wanted something that you don't need to work on they were a good if somewhat pricey option.

I have a 69 Vert for sale, and I would be inclined to get a shop to rebuild it, locally, where you can see the progress, if I were you.

Good article in the latest Unique Cars mag about this place - they give it a pretty good wrap. Let's hope their journalistic integrity hasn't been bought by the Classic Speed shop paying for them to fly over and check it out.

$75,000 approx for a "basic" 66 67 fastback.  Closer to $80,000 registered and delivered.  $90,000 and up for the GT 350's etc.  Don't forget though, these are nut and bolt restorations with at least $40,000 of new parts added.
If it's worth owning, it's had a song written about it.

Gday Guys, please find attached the article in discussion.

http://s1098.photobucket.com/albums/g375/sghicks001/?start=all

I would be very interested in some feedback on this, as i'm quite close to purchasing one myself from these guys. All due diligence has bought up a whole lot of people very happy and nothing but praise for them. So interested in the comment about cheap asian parts etc, a search on here as suggested has bought up nothing?

I wouldn't worry too much about the "cheap asian parts" The repro parts available here & the US are all the same thing. I havent seen one of their builds in the flesh or heard much feedback either way. But they seem like pretty good value cars to me. I couldn't build one for that here. Labour over there is as cheap as chips, thats how they do it. Also cheap labour over there doesnt mean unskilled. Even what would be a high end dollar occupation in Australia is 3/5ths of bugger all in Asia.

i've been to the factory,  i was very impressed with with their operation,  and would be happy to buy a car off them,  if my budget stretched that far.  Plus angeles city is an awesome place for a few beers and a fang around the local race track.

I've recently placed an order with Classic Speed after visiting their show rooms in Sydney. Watched the video, visited the web site over the past 7 months and after viewing the cars in Sydney was sold.

I will visit the factory in May to see how it is doing. Probably not for the purist but if you are chasing a classic style that goes like a shower of ..... and handles well these look like the goods.

I've gone for rack & pinion power steering, 4 wheel discs, 347 and a few items that make it my mustang.
I'll keep you posted, should be ready for delivery Xmas/New Year

there was a Classic Speed GT350H recreation ( Resto Mod ) at the Vic Round Up in October last year. Needless to say I checked it out & it looked like a nicely done job........a mixture of old & new.

I have looked at 4 Mustangs that Classic Speed have rebuilt.
One car that was rebuilt around two years ago was average. It was getting problems fixed that Classic missed when the car was rebuilt. Classic paid to fix the problems.
I understand that things have changed in the management and the cars are now coming out with a better
build quality.
Classic had a stand at the Hanging Rock car show this year and the two cars on display looked really good.
The question I ask is why wouldn’t you do the same thing here at least you could follow the build.
If you had a problem you may have a better chance of getting it fixed.
Use someone like St Mary’s smash they could do the same thing for the same sort of dollars if you buy a good car to start with.
