1st post, saying hello :)
« on: February 26, 2011, 04:08:34 pm »
Hey everyone!!  I posted here the other day but my post was deleted, deemed 'suspicious' most likely.   Anyway, just wanted to say Hi and introduce myself.

My name's Andrew.  After being wowed by Eleanor back in 2000, I vowed one day to own her, so in 2009 I bought a '67 Fastback of my own, planning to build my own Eleanor.  I met a girl shortly after buying it and all resto plans went on hold, as my time and money was being invested elsewhere.  The car was in good running condition so I am still driving 'Hayley' around to this day, waiting for the day I start the project.   However, I've become so fond of the classic look I'm more inclined to keep her looking this way, but still do a full restoration.  Still unsure.  lol

My ride is a '67 Fastback, Motec fuel injected 302 with a 4spd manual, converted to RHD.  I named her Hayley, after another gorgeous red-head Hayley Williams from Paramore.   Hot!!

I compete nationally in BMX Flatland and play guitar, xbox, and would love to train MMA but just don't have the time.  Life's busy enough!!    Hope to meet some of you some day.  See ya's around!!

Welcome to the forum Fastbackjack,

I don't recall any suspicious posts but then there are 2 other admins.

Your IP is from Australia so you're fine with me, I only get suspiciuos when people are from countries like the Phillipines who are usually posting things for sale like mobile phones.

Again welcome aboard.

Regards   peter

Hey Peter!  Thanks for the welcome.  I posted up about an SVT key ring my fiance bought me.  It was supposed to be a Shelby GT-500 chain but the guy sent the wrong one, so I thought I'd see if anyone had a SVT who might want it.  Shouldn't have made it my first post, I guess. Probably looked like a spammer.  lol

LOL. I do remember one of the mods mentioning that.

I hope you have a better experience this time.

Guilty as charged.  Had a double registration on the one IP under different names within a couple of minutes and the first post was a bit iffy so out it went. (Have since tightened that security level up on the settings.)

Sorry about that.

Welcome aboard :hi:

Well spotted, CPU..!!  I registered from work and after signing up initially my screen went right back to the registration screen and I wasn't sure if it worked, so I signed up again but it said 'email account already in use' so I signed up under another name.
Good to know the mods are on the ball, though.  :)

Hey Fastback.

Don`t you dare change that car. What you`ve got is a classic. The best looking Mustang ever.

Love the Red.

Welcome Jack, always good to see another sandgroper on here. Clever photo too. I agree with Scotty, it looks great the way it is, when you get around to doing the Eleanor thing, buy another fastback and sell Hayley to me!

Mwizz, Jim, Macka, thanks for the welcome :)

Scotty, with each passing day I love the classic look a little more.  By the time I actually DO something to her I'll be 100% committed to the classic look. Ha ha.   The pic was taken at the front of the Perth Concert Hall, facing St. Georges Terrace.    It's our regular training spot for bmx.  Thought I'd quickly park her there and snap a shot for our website.  Came out pretty sweet, I reckon'..!!

Pony, that's actually not a bad idea, buying another and using that for the Eleanor.  Maybe in a few years that might be a possibility.  Hayley ain't goin' nowhere, though, sorry. ;)

BLKPNY, it's in really good nic, but I have this desire to re-do everything from scratch and have as close to a 'brand new' car as possible.  My dad is reaching retirement soon and It'd be nice to do something like this with him while the opportunity is there.

Anyway, it's my birthday! I'm off to get some lunch and enjoy the day.   Have a great weekend, guys 'n gals :)

Hot property Scott - we're fighting over it already and it's not even for sale! Pic was taken out the front of the Concert Hall by the looks.

Edit: oops, already been covered.

I wish..!!  Unfortunately Flatland only makes up 5% of the BMX world, and therefore 5% of the prize money :(   I have to be content with trophies and some spending money, instead.  Outside of BMX i work in an office at a computer, browsing all things Mustang online. :)    And I'm well impressed that you recognize a decade, and a brakeless one at that..!!  Bit of a freestyler back in the day, were you?  So rad :)

And Hayley is permanantly unavailable, and I won't be signing any transfer papers at gunpoint, either.  Yikes!
