Hi my name is Robert hope you guy's like the car as much as i do.
Well it all began with a talk over a couple of beers with my mate who was in the process of importing a car from the states. I asked how do you know what condition the car is ? He told me that’s easy I used a well known car finder/exporter “Shermatt International” and showed me the videos and collection of pictures he was sent before the decision was made to go ahead with the purchase. Now this got me very interested but seeing his car was due to be picked up in a week I decided to take a trip to Melbourne with him to pick his car up.
On the trip home with his car on the trailer I had my first conversation with Matt who had rang to see if we got the car OK. I expressed an interest in getting a 69/70 convertible and asked what the choice was like, “No worries said Matt I’ll have a search around and get back to you with a few options” Well within a couple of days the emails started turning up with several options, but one stood out among them all a 1970 Grabber Green White interior 302 t-bar auto Convertible.
The decision to inspect the vehicle was made and Matt & Sheri booked their flights to go and see the car (not the easiest place to get too either 2 flights and a 2hour drive to get there) Matt rang me while inspecting the car and said it all checks out nice even to the point that this car was featured in “Mustang Monthly in 2002” By this time I was ready to go but Matt said hold on for a couple of hours we will go back to our hotel upload the videos for you to see before you make your decision.
After seeing the videos I gave the go ahead and the deal was done at a great saving on the advertised price (which covered most of Shermatt’s fees and transport costs to California for shipping)
The car arrived just in time for my daughters school formal and I don’t know who had a bigger smile on their face.
A big thankyou to Matt & Sheri from Shermatt International. All the paperwork for purchase, shipping, import approval etc was made so easy. The whole process went smooth and I can’t stop smiling when I go into the garage and see the “Green Machine” sitting there.
