Is there any way of searching what codes should be on the body tag, apart from ordering a new one with a Marti report? I do have the VIN but not the tag details yet and I'd like to find out what options this vehicle had. Curiosity is killing me!

what year car have you got?and when you say body tag, what do you mean? the door tag, engine tag, rear axle tag, a/c, etc, etc... or are you talking buck tag?

you will never reaally know what the car came with without a marti report. only available from 67 on. before then, no records were kept.

Sorry, I meant door tag. My mistake.

I don't have the car just yet. Will be in the States in 2 weeks to see it but I'm just trying to research it as much as possible before I go over.

Its a 69 model.

if you only have vin, you won't be able to do much without going to marti.

if you ask for a basic report it should come pretty quickly. it'll have the stuff you want on it. and then later if you want to upgrade to a deluxe, you will get a discount. or you can wait a bit longer and get the deluxe first up...

No worries, thanks for the advice.

I have ordered the basic report plus added $3 for them to email to me before they post it. I should get it on the 8th and I fly out on the 12th so that times well.

Look forward to seeing exactly what my hopefully new car will be. :smile02:

As far as I know the only changes really to these specs are it is now a 4 speed manual and has 3.91 diff gears.

I haven't paid just yet but have agreed on a price, $25000. I've been talking to the owner for a little while now as he wasn't in a rush to sell. I fly in next Saturday and will be at his place on Sunday. I'll buy it then once I see it. I wanted it that way and he was more then happy to wait for me to get there so I knew what I was getting. Hopefully if the truck turns up on time it will leave for LA the next day.
