SAAS seats from Supercheap

HI,

Just a heads up for people using their cars as daily drivers and want some neck protection.  I bought a pair of the promo SAAS seats with rails that Supercheap have for around $200 each.  These seats and rails bolt straight in my 67 coupe without any drilling or modification.

The seats slide back about an inch more than the stock seats and slide forward enough that no human could possibly fit.

I still want to mod mine to slide a bit further back though (I'm 6'2").

Do the seats fold forward for people to get into the back seat easily? Or do you have to slide them forward on the rails?

I have lowered the seat mounting by 30mm to fit as I'm 6'5" tall.

The extra leg room I need really makes it squashy for any rear seat passengers!
Cheers,
Warwick

They fold forward with a lever on the side.

The base of the seat sits lower so headroom isn't a problem for me.  Just legroom.

Cool. How do they look? Any photos?
Im thinking of doing the same thing ( on a temporary basis ).
I wonder if they are ADR approved?
Cheers

They look surprisingly good considering the price.  They are a black cloth with the SAAS logo stitched in white to the top.

According to Supercheap both the seats and rails are ADR approved.

If you jump in and out of the car like a taxi or pizza delivery they will be a PITA due to the side supports.

Very similar to this seat

BTW they don't have the seat belt attached to the seat.  In my case that isn't a problem as the seat belts are bolted to the tunnel.

From what I've been reading it would only require approval if you modify the rails, seats, seat mounts, or seat belts in any way.

Since these bolt straight in they shouldn't require approval (All care but no responsibility taken for the above statements).
