Original factory air housing is a good starting point because it all slots straight in to existing ducts and fan hole in firewall.  There are a few US suppliers that sell upgrades to factory unit, to use latest gas spec and replace the vacuum controls with electric servo motors.

TQ1,

I have a Vintage Air unit for a 70 Fastback and it works. Good unit, very happy.

I'm with Cobra Jet.
Just installed a vintage air unit in my 69 and it fits like a glove . Only had to drill one new hole during the whole install. no more vacuum all electronic. Cost $1200 complete out of the US, although I got it in a mates container so not sure on shipping costs.
Easy to fit and works a treat.
Cheers

G'day tq1, I have recently installed an under dash system with great effect, have you considered that option?
