Is there a huge difference in value between a 6 cylinder and a V8 Mustang for resale and purchase. Also same question for auto and Manual. What is more popular. The 6 is rarer, but is it then worth more?

rarer maybe as the numbers are less, they are not popular and are cheaper to puchase.
To convert from a 6 to an 8 is reasonably easy with replacing basically the whole drive line.

so in turn I believe that answers your questions :thumb:

Unless the 6 is quite tidy then there is usually about 2-5k difference in price which is interesting as mine is a 6 which will be ripped out in a week to be cleaned, painted and replaced gaskets and then it shall be put in for a few years till i can drive the V8.
