A stolen 1967 Ford Mustang coupe has been seized during a raid by heavily-armed Tactical Response Group police officers in Bayswater this morning.
The officers, together with a heavily armoured vehicle known as a Bearcat, were called to an address in Bayswater after a vintage muscle car was stolen at gunpoint at 5am this morning.
Sergeant Gerry Cassidy said the vintage coupe was stolen after six men, wearing balaclavas and brandishing a handgun, burst into a house in Phar Lap Road, Wattle Grove, and demanded the keys.

He said the car was fitted with a GPS device and was tracked to an address in White Street, an industrial area in Bayswater.
Police reinforcements have blocked off the eastern end of White Street since 5.30am and several other streets in the area while they tried to establish contact with the people inside, who they believed were armed.
TRG officers have been inside an auto salvage business and the car was located in a laneway behind a workshop.
No-one was inside however the owner has just arrived at the scene.
The area is expected to remain cordoned off to traffic for most of the day.
