Suggest you do a search on the site (Upper left corner has the search button).

Try search on "import" ... "GST" ... "Tax"

There are a few posts that will assist.

Others might have some more specific information on the Aust Govt website that sets out the specific rules that apply however nothing beats personal experience.

You should be OK under $1000.

I have imported several shipments - all under $1000 and no duties or taxes.

Cheers,
Frank.

I have always been advised under $1000 AUD including shipping.  However, I just noticed an invoice from a shipment two months ago where I spent $1047 USD not including shipping (which from memory was another $400), and there wre no duty/customs charges.

Shhhhh!  Customs watch the sites.  They might send you the bill from where yours slipped through, unnoticed.

If it comes in via post. no duties up to $1000.00. Via UPS, Fedex etc, taxes over $200.00 USPS is the way to go.
