Hey guys, obviously new to the forum, but excited to be joining an elite club. Finally after 2 months of waiting for the import approval, i got it yesterday. Strange how you need to own it before they can even consider whether or not you can bring it over. Anyway, here it is

:agree:
Very nice, but does need a drop of 1+  inches particularly at the rear.
Rear rubber appears to be outside the guards too!
Is the rear on a widened 9 inch or something?

Congrats.

I also know what you mean, After submitting my request on 10 Nov i finally got my approval in the mail on 24 Dec - made for a great X-mas pressie.  Hopefully the car should now be out here end of Jan / start of Feb.

Hi Moe

Will try to send you email of pics.  It is a 1969 factory 390, 4spd Mach 1.   It has a Special Paint Code (colour not known) and is currently painted black with a red/gold stripe.

Cheers

Great , Slugger!!! good score , must be glad to be finally cruising :) Can't wait to see you tuck those rear's inside the guards though. Will totally change it's street cred (even if it costs a bit). :welcome:

thanks guys. Been in contact with the shipping company, hopefully it gets here mid Feb. As far as the widened diff, i have no idea. it does have 17X9.5 on the rear though. So does anyone have any clues on what i need to get the blue slip in NSW?

Who / what's the hold up Slugger?

I got my approval on 24Dec, uploaded and sent it to my importer on 25Dec.  He had the car in a container ready to go to the docks in LA on  6 Jan (boat leaving a couple of days later) and expects it to be in Sydney at the end of Jan or first couple of days of Feb. :yellowpepper:

The shipping co isn't loading cars till the 17, well, which is today, It got picked up yesterday, now the boat doesn't leave port till 27th jan, ETA is 12 march. I'm just glad that my guy in the US came thru, was worried a bit, but now the car is slowly making it's way here.

Slugger, the way this year has been going it will be here before you know it.  The wait will also be long forgotten when you are out crusing in it anyway.

you know things are progressing nicely when you get an invoice from the shipping company.  :)

I know what you mean, the waiting is the hardest part.
You'll have it before you know it.
My wife reckons that its like having a baby:
- Planning ( looking for a Mustang, its fun but frustrating :hope: )
- Pregnancy ( waiting for the bloody thing to arrive  )
- Delivery ( arrival of the Stang  :yellowpepper:)
- Realism ( the joys of the new born / new addition :smile02: )
