If the car has been sitting for a week or so is it better to crank the engine for a while and build up oil pressure before it starts. My car will start with two pumps of the accelerator pedal even after it has been sitting for so long but it is a little rattly until the oil light goes out. I prefer to crank it for a while so that the oil light goes out or if it hasn't gone out it isn't running for so long after it has started until it gets the pressure up.
