Side exhaust
« on: November 09, 2010, 03:30:13 pm »
Hi guys, I was looking at bringing out a 66 Coupe from teh States that has some eleanor type skirting kit on it and the side exhaust. Does anyone know how you would go registering a car with the side exhaust set up... does the classic car status make it exempt from having to get an engineers compliance certificate etc?

Cheers!

Hi, you shouldn't need an engineers, as it is Pre-ADR, unless it has some modifications.
With side pipes and bodykit, it probably won't get import approval anyway.

I run side pipes on my F Truck, and I'm sure it has to exit some distance behind the rearmost opening window, be tilted down some degree's, and have a heatshield on it.

In SA you can't have a left hand side pipe but you can have a R/H side one........its a pedestrian thing I think
