just wanting to know the earth that turns to power? what earth are you talking about?

Fangstang,

I dont think I explained it properly or actually correctly a few posts ago.

There is a uni-directional crossover section that when the brake lights are activated the voltage on the front flashers is then tied to earth instead of 12v, so they don't flash in unison with the brake lights. Without that, everytime you braked, the front flashers would flash everytime you braked. At all other times they are tied together at the same voltage so your front markers come on with the rear lights.

I think I got confused as my front markers are wired in with the front indicators. That is maybe why my LEDs in the front indicators don't work. But I kinda like that fact that they flash as per newer cars.

I hope that makes sense.
Cheers,
Frank

problem solved with help from mark (donoauto thanks), i put a jump wire from earth on battery to indicator housing and it started working, so i though bad eath somewhere, then followed eath wires and the earthed out at the reg, witch iv removed previously to fit a alt with inturnal reg so the earth wire was no longer conected, i earthed it to the body and now all good,
now job for weekend is to check fuses for headlights and make a wiring upgrade for the halogens.

where do you buy them from?wouldnt be much cost to make your own, plugs and wire and heatshrink, but yes maybe not as neat, and less thinking/possibility of getting it wrong

Hey Rob , THAT'S GREAT. At last I've offered useful advice.:fantastic:

That kit looks good but the price..............I'd do the whole job for a customer incl. parts/labour for that. I think I saw on mustangmonthly a tech. article about relaying headlamps yourself but without the right equipment ( pro crimpers/ soldering iron etc.) , doing it yourself may turn out a little ordinary & unreliable.
Really happy that I could assist.

If you can let us know what issue (month and year) we'll dig it up and post it.

My flasher can was behind the stereo, just above it and just below the centre vents .

However, my car is a 70 with air.

Good luck !
Frank.
