Genuine v Reproduction
« on: August 25, 2005, 09:29:34 pm »
Just landed a 67 coupe, and this is all new to me.

I'm looking to replace a heap of parts, and i'm at the gen v repo intersection.

I've been told repro wheel arch/Bonnet/Grill/trunk surrounds never fit properly, but then those trying to sell them to me say they are exactly the same.

Any advice would be apreciated.

The repro stuff will fit with a mild tweek or two, but never really looks as good as the real stuff.

Shinboner

Would have to agree with Pete that nothing beats the genuine original.
Have now converted the other half into doing some of the Concours washin, cleaning & polishing stuff!!!!!!!!

Mustangs of Melbourne, East Coast Mustang Parts, Mustang World, Mustang Central, all in Melbourne, all are reliable and  supply most parts you will need. It's a case of shopping it around for the best price. In some cases there will be two different types of the same part. Usually in this case the more expensive one is better quality. For instance a $100.00 taiwan bumper bar is nowhere near as good as the $200.00 japanese one. good luck.
