hi anyone know where i can get a set of anti rattle clips for my front brake pads on my 72 mustang?.
the rattle drives me crazy,i know its the pads in the calipers as it goes away when i place my foot litely on the brakes.
ive tried to get the clips but run into a dead end every time?.
has anyone had any luck with any other fix on this matter?:feedback:

There is also anti rattle paste available.  Most brake joints will have some, else RiPCO or similar.

Cheers

Probably the same as falcon, try mustang autoparts in Bris. Robin has falcon and mustang parts. It may be the pin grommets if the are like xy brakes.

If you get the orange one in a semi opaque tube made by CRC(by memory) it sets like a sticky soft rubber and can be used to "hold" the pad to the piston thus stops the rattle, as Jas suggested, caused by the disc flicking the pad around.  You may need to machine the rotors too if they are warped or thickness varies to much.
The springs usually work better if you can get them. Sometimes you need both the spring and stick the pad.

Do they rattle when you go over slight bumps, with your foot off the brake pedal, but don't rattle over bumps with your foot on the pedal?

If so I had the same problem and found the culprit, I posted it here. Let me know and I'll find the post.

Thanx for the backup.

Anti Rattle and Anti squeal are different products.

yes it only rattles over bumps with foot off pedal and goes away with foot on pedal,
ive tried looking for the anti rattle clips at our local wreckers F100 have the same clips fitted as the pads are similar to the ones on my 72 but not exactly the same i found one clip but still need another (anyone wrecking a F100 or Bronco with disc brakes that i can get a anti rattle clip off?
i tried matching up the pads at Better Brakes and Brakemart in town but they dont exist, then i searched the net but all other 71-73 mustangs dont have the same pads as i have?,
does anyone have pics of there 71-73 mustang front brakes?

Check the thread below fangstang. Have a look at your caliper and see if it's the same as this on my '70. If the rubber "insulator" is missing/broken off yours then that's the problem. Grab the whole assembly and see if it clunks as you wriggle it. I got new insulators for mine and hey presto! Problem solvered. Advice compliments of ozbilt.

Another method to compensate for the clearance is to mig weld one end of the pad backing plate & file down to suit so that is a snug fit in the caliper. I might have some old clips at my workshop. I'll check tomorrow. Most brake specialists should have something laying around!!!!

Maybe fit some XF calipers if the bolt pattern is the same.
