Hey all:feedback:
I have a 66 coupe with power steering
a friend is looking at a similar car in USA without it
( 66 289 coupe )and Im wondering the forums thoughts on
if its neccasary or luxury
interested to from owners with and without
and from buyers would it worry you if a car did or didnt have it
For my thoughts I wouldnt be without it but I see  many good cars getting round without it
cheers
Paul

I find the manual steering no problem at all. I have just put on 14x7 rims increasing from 14x5 and was worried that it might become heavy but no complaints so far.
I also convinced myself that it is one less thing to worry about

My is manual, a little hard to park, but one gets used to it & lets face it, we dont park them that often.
If you haven't grown up & matured by the age of 55, (65 now & nothin has changed) YOU DON'T HAVE TOO.....Gary

I asked a very similar question, and was advised that unless I was going to be parking it a lot  ie in shopping centres etc ..then there was no requirement.....the advise was good, I find the car handles very well just as it is. :thumb:

I have one manual and one powered.

The manual is no issue at all for me. Maybe a little hard for the misses to drive it (which might not be a bad thing).

The powered allows you to have one less thing to worry about, e.g. low speed turning used primarily while parking. I see it as not necessary but a nice to have. The one comment is I do not overly like the power ram approach as it has less feel for the driver.
