not quite 3/4 turn
« on: September 22, 2010, 08:12:45 pm »
following several posts of replacing head gasket, replacing oil pump, etc, etc, I followed the "book" in re-setting rocker nuts at 3/4 turn past finger tight, and it went OK, but just felt that it was trying to miss a little, specially under load, eg trying to pick up in 3rd after turning a corner. So I wound back the nuts 1/8, and couldn't believe the difference. Feels so more responsive under load. I know this is not a science, and can now understand shaunp and others talking about cutting out rocker covers and adjusting while running, but for my rig, the answer is definitely 5/8 turn past finger tight.
