:fantastic:
Are you interested in being a part of an organised group tour of Tasmania driving your Mustang with other Mustangers?
I'm taking serious expressions of interest so please call me asap. I have 12 cars/24 members confirmed so far. The proposed dates of the trip are: Departing Melbourne on the Spirit of Tasmania Friday October 28th 2011 and returning to Melbourne Sunday 6th November. This takes in the Melbourne Cup long weekend.
I am awaiting quotes from several travel operators and will have full details in the next week.
Cheers, Pete    :fantastic:

Greats road and I believe 1 speed camera on the entire island !  :thumb:

I would be interested depending on price.

Cheers,

Yeah Frank, we did a trip about 3 years ago and everyone had a ball, so I thought we'd give it another go! I'll put you on the list.
Cheers

Just so you all know, I will be booking the boat and accommodation at the end of October and will be needing a $500.00 deposit prior to Christmas for the trip. Already I have 12 cars/couples who say they are definitely going regardless not knowing the final cost. There will be a limit on numbers due to accommodation constraints (places with secure parking in some of the towns we will be staying in. So don't procrastinate!

Pete.

You are booking this October for next October ? I can understand you doing that as several car clubs make the trip each year at that time.
At this stage I am then tentative - not sure if I can book it that far ahead.

Cheers,
Frank.

Hi Frank,

From memory, I think it was $1054/person, plus $160 odd for vehicle transport (return) on the Spirit of Tasmania....  :thumb:

Bluddy good value IMHO !!  :yellowpepper:

Yep, that's the price and it includes a porthole cabin return on the boat, all accommodation and a cruise on the Franklin river from Strachan. Bluddy bargain. Bookings close next Wednesday. We have met the minimum numbers required, but I can still fit 6 more couples in if they book and pay deposits by next Wednesday. I have the full itinerary and can email it to anyone who is interested. One of our party has even offered to organise a brewery tour in Hobart if we're interested. Hmmmmmmmmm........now let me think.........BEER. OK Let's do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers,
Pete

Might have trouble getting it past the finance minister, but it is a good deal.

Also, not sure what we do with our son for that week - he is not old enough to be left home alone.

Will confirm though before next wednesday.

Cheers,
Frank.

Last time we took our son along and he enjoyed himself just as much as the Big Kids. However he was only 2 1/2 at time.

Our son is 12 - think he will be a little bored and he is tall so will be a bit cramped in the back of the muzzy.

Would it be another $1054 for him ?

Cheers,
Frank.

Family prices are $908 per adult and $734 per child, based on 2 adults and 2 kids. I reckon I might be able to pressure them to do those prices for 1 kid only if I have to. Don't forget the wholesaler of this package is not accepting anymore bookings at these prices after Wednesday the 3rd.
Cheers,
Pete

Hmmmmmmm !!!! Envy68 is coming along, but how embarrassing will it be for us to be both wearing the same car. Best I go and buy another Mustang so there's not 2 Lime Gold 68 coupes on the trip..................................................................................................................

Hi Pete.

Looks like we're not gonna make it for Tassie next year. SWMBO decided on Bali instead.

Cheers,
Frank.

Hi Frank,

Thats bluddy disappointing..... would it help if we organised a phone tree so that each of us give her a call every day or so to extol the virtues of tripping round Tassie in Muzzies....?

Hi Mal.

Problem is also my 12 would be a bit bored and also a bit cramped in the back of the Muzzy as he is pretty tall.

So upshot is he wants to go to Bali too and not Tassie. I'm not too happy especially given my wife went to Bali this August with her girlfriends already.

But that's OK I suppose , 2012 I will go to the US hopefully as a boys trip and who knows ... maybe even bring back toy # 3. Been jonesing for a Mopar for a while now.

Karma is a bitch.

Cheers,
Frank.

Hi Frank,

Yep, I understand what you say about your son. I recently had a friends son in the back of mine; he is tall too, and I would imagine its not a comfy way to travel when it is hours at a time.  You like the Mopars too then...?  :thumb:

And you are right about Karma..... she is a bitch with teeth !!  :smile01:

Yeah , I do like Mopars for sure .... would love a 70 Challenger 440 6-pack. Either that or buy a good body with a run down 340 - take out the 340 and drop in a Hemi crate motor.

Maybe dreaming ... but you never know.

Cheers,
Frank.
