Hi Pony People!

I am thinking of starting a 4th 1969 Mustang restoration. This will be my first in Australia and I am not sure of the current legal speed humps standing in my way. I am looking at a L/H drive fastback that was imported from Californina. I am not sure of what details to ask the current owner. Do I need any specific import paperwork? Before I hand over the cash what should I be on the lookout for? I am a bit concerned as the car is not running and will require some effort to restore. I do not want to purchase it if I will have difficulty with the legalites.

Any helpful hints would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Jeanpaul,
As far as i'm aware, you will need a copy of the import approval and a copy of the title.
Also a purchase reciept from the sale here.
As far as rego goes, once it is up and running, in NSW you will need a blue slip from an authorised RTA inspection station.
As long as it is in original condition, ie engine
size etc the only thing you should need to change are
the headlight sealed beams tho local ones.
You may already know that in NSW any car over 30 years of age doesn't need a L to R conversion.
I hope this helps.
