Discovered I have blown some seals on my Paxton 1200 and I don't want to send it to Capa in w.A.  Can anyone recommend a Brisbane company who can do it?

PS Great Idea for a restomod section.

CAPA are in SA, I thought?

CVE rebuilds blowers down here, I imagine there should be plenty of people up there that can?

Any of the big drag racing engine builders up there? Mark Brew?

Darryl
there is a workshop in I think Randal street  slacks creek that sell and install superchargers they are called PST I think,  they have ran the dyno comps at the Brisbane hot rod shows in previous years  maybe give them a call or if you can't find their number let me know and I'll call in and quiz them for you

try Redcliffe Dyno and Performance they will be able to do it.

Have you though about buying the parts and doing it yourself quite an easy job

Heard some so so stories about Redcliffe dyno.   Just negotiating what I am going to do, probably take it off and take it to somewhere to get fixed

Steve doesn't run Redcliffe anymore, he is now in the US, if the stories you've heard are old, or involve him.

I have no idea on the current people though.

Took it to Brisbane Tuning and Tubos at Nile St, W/Gabba today.  They helped the engine builder tune the car after fitting the charger.
Diagnosis - Blown ceramic seal in charger.

Cause in the opnion of the shop is quite common on this type of charger unit.  The kit does not include a blow off valve so if a back fire occurs the air is blown back from the carby to the head unit slaming into the ceramic seals in the charger and breaks them.  Apparently this type of blow backs is huge in PSI levels.  This happened a few times when I took off in the car before letting the car warm up fully and kabang.  Putting in a blow off valve, new seal in the charger, rebalanced and it should fix it.  Guaranteed work so will have to wait and see.

Apparently Paxton are quite aware of this issue but did nothing to advise people of the issue.

It's not really Paxtons problem in my opinion.

Maybe fatten it up some on the carb, so it doesn't pop back as well. The pop off valve should save it though we allways ran one on Dave's E type under the blower

All blowers should run a pop off valve, for a draw thru, or blow off valve, in a blow thru.

But Paxton probably know the belt will slip absorbing most of the load. Is it a 10PK belt?

Stock belt (in other words I don't know the rating).  All fixed.  Both carbon seals were gone and a bearing.  It must have started sometime ago as the seals had started to damage the drive shaft.  Fitted a blow off valve under the inlet pipe. Thinking now about putting the PCV back and dropping the catch can seeing there is no blow back.

Now to move to the AOD.  Thanks god its tax time again, yahoo:fantastic:
