Looking at getting a Mustang but need advice
« on: May 16, 2010, 05:11:23 pm »
Hey all I'm new here but looks like a place that can really help me along. I'm looking at a 67 GT Fastback.  Now what sort of money should I be looking at paying for something that is in FC comes with everything but its not installed, needs a FULL ground up restore, Motor rebuild????  Any help would be great.

Cheers

Chris

If you are buying in the USA please use one of the Aussies over there to inspect beforehand, or you can end up getting one in completely FC.

On the other hand if you are considering buying locally, grab a copy of Just Cars magazine, and start treking around your nearest Mustang importer's showrooms. If they haven't got exactly what you want they will still have good advice, and might even have something to suit on the water. Just Cars will also give you an idea of local prices.

For an idea of USA prices get a copy of Old Car Trader from your local newsagent.

If you want to talk about costs, my contact info is in my bio. To much info to repeat here.

Many threads on this site where we talk about costs of not only buying cars but import costs as well. A search should find them.

Do not buy any car from anywhere until either you or someone you trust implicitly, does a full inspection/report of the intended purchase.
Too many on this forum have taken unknown people at their word only to stumble dramatically.;]
There are some good trustworthy people on this forum to get advice from.
Ozbilt is a good starting point!
