Just got back after a big night at willobank raceway and I finally run a flat 15 down the quater mile tonight not like the 17 I pulled on the last run... But not bad for a 289 windsor. it would be good to see some more mustangers out there on the track would be very intresting what other people can run!

Heaven what did she run?? It was a 289 at the time yeah??

The main trouble of the night I had was my clutch peddle wanted to keep sticking to the floor when I put the motor under load so I kept adjusting it throughout the night and when I fixed that it was so far out gears where crunching a bit so im hoping next run I can do a bit better with it.

Well done Ryan that is a really great time,

Willowbank allow lap only seat belts which WSID at eastern creek won't (and neither do ANDRA), this means many of us can't race with lap only belts, even the guy who did the engineering certificate on my car said he was happy with the cars belts now, but would NOT pass it with the new 3 pointers I bought because the highest mounting point on the vert is well below the shoulder line, which is a no-no. Damn!!

So how do they mount it in a vert without contravening the adr's about mounting heights. Interested to see how qld respond to that!

Yep It had the 289 in it, was an automagic pulling 14.8 seconds, then I learned to change gears and put a manual box in and it went down to 13.8 @ 99.9 mph:(

I'm planning on heading out to the test n tune next Wednesday 5 May.  Changed my manifold from dual plane to single plane, so we'll see how we go.  Hopefully she doesn't go backwards ;w

If you're out there, come and say hello.  I'll be there in my Daytona Blue with white stripes 68 Hardtop.

I just picked up a suction cup mount for my video camera, so if it doesn't fall off during the run, I'll post up a vid.

Cheers

Yep never had a issue at wsid , ive raced in the nastalgia drags and my 3 points were fine also have gone to a number of private track days at wsid , no problems, my best time with the old iron headed 351 donk was 12.8@106mph with a 3.25 diff and fmx tranny, havn't raced it yet with the 408 donk , need to stick a 9 inch in first
Not bad for a vert :+
cheers chris.

Performer manifold, Mild cam, bit of head work 10.2 : 1 compression, 16deg initial timing and maxing out at 34deg, 4 to 1 extractors, and the peace de resistance Rotchester carbie, 3.25 diff and 224hp at the rear wheels and and not to mention my lightening fast gear changes!...I been trying to teach the mrs how its done :w:w

Cant wait to run the 347

That's what happens when you take your car to the drags :+

This is where your wallet starts to be empty for long periods of time. Next time you go and run a 14.5 and you still won't be happy.

Ryan a high rise will move the power higher up, won't nessessarily make it any faster, do you still have the 650 Demon? If so this will be knockng it around off the line, it's too big. Smaller carb with a 1inch spacer, lower LSD diff, some clutch slip off the line and practise till you break the singel rail.

shaun ive already put anoher singlerail box in it... but what hevan was saying I have done the same things to my motor with the Performer manifold, Mild cam, bit of head work 10.2 : 1 compression 325 diff.  the only thing I havent done is my initial timing which I set it at 10 not 16. the next thing is that single rail box my clutch peddle kept wanting to stick to the floor and when I re addjusted it. it was verry hard to pull it in 2nd gear I think the box is a verry big killer on the gear changes.

the mighty demond is a 625 double pumper but I already have a 1 inch spacer plate on it and the diff is not lsd its an open diff with 325 centers
