Hi all, coming into this late as I’ve only just purchased a 2017 plated Mustang.

Could anyone tell me if there’s a way to have the digital speed permanently displayed on the dash without having to go through the engineering mode set up every time you start the car? – alternate is to install an aftermarket HUD and plug it into the OBD II port. any ideas ?

      • Hi Warrick. No, I don’t believe there is a way to display it permanently. I researched it several years ago and ended up going with the separate OBDII unit. It might be possible using a FORSCAN tool, but not when I researched it.

        • Thanks for the reply Shane – after several replies – yes, I have managed to install a HUD unit that actually fits into the centre tunnel where the digital screen lives – the unit rests on the steering column connected to the QDGII pins and a small reflector is fitted above the screen – works quite well there and is not affected by sunlight etc. Maybe one day I will install the full digital screen, however I kind of like the traditional tunnel speedo and tacho.

          • Sounds like good work. Do you have a picture of the setup? (and the brand of the HUD you purchased?).

        • Sure – see attached
