I am looking for a replacement for my harmonic balancer as I want to go from 4 bolt to 3 bolt for more crank pulley options. I've pulled it off the car (66 302, but I think the engine was from a later year mustang) but I can't seem to find much information when searching for the numbers on it. Here are some pics: https://imgur.com/a/awIXg6D and it looks like the markings on it are

72DA
8316CA

And on the balancing weights (not sure what ? is, it's worn off)
09
?5

Does anyone know where I can find more information on this harmonic balancer to find a compatible 3 bolt one? Thanks!!

I don't know how to post links, but if you look up YouTube " My vintage iron"
Go to the videos list and search
302 pulley problems,
Might steer you in the right direction and it's an informative site too,

Thanks Reborn, that shed a lot of light on the issue.

In the end I went with (original 66 setup, theory is I have a 70s motor in a 66 stang):
- 1964-68 Mustang Crankshaft Damper 260-289 https://www.custommustangs.com.au/1964-68-mustang-crankshaft-damper-260-289

- 1965-67 Mustang 289 w/AC/PS Crankshaft Pulley Triple Groove - Black (6 21/32" OD)
https://www.custommustangs.com.au/1965-67-mustang-289-w-ac-ps-crankshaft-pulley-trip

Will be installing today and I think this will solve it once and for all!

Hey Fickle,
This might help you identify your engine year of manufacture.

There is a cast number and a stamped number at the back of the valley.

Cheers Phil.

But if you've buggered a lot maybe you're not very good at it!

Two for one is good but four for two is better!

Just make sure you have the correct balance weight for the era of the engine, not the car,
