The rear quarter windows on coupe are showing there age,as well as some other parts. I am debating wether to buy new, used or have them resurfaced. Could any body tell me a Sydney based company that they have used orv they know of:feedback:

Dont know of a place in Sydney but I had mine done here in Adelaide and its worth doing.
Cost was about half the price of new ones .
Nice knowing they are the original ones too.

Aren't they polished stainless??

I get stuff chromed in Vic by Vinny's. I've been happy with the service so far. You need to tell them to put the effort in when polishing up the parts, of any scratches will show up in the new chrome.

I just rang a local mob to find out the cost to re-chrome the bumpers.  The cost $450-500 each.  Is it just me or is this a tad on the expensive side?

I think it is generally an expensive exercise from what I have found in the past.  This is why many original parts get the flick in favour of repo parts... cost of a new repo bumber circa $100

$500 each sounds right.
I had my L34 bars rechromed in 2004 and cost me $800 for the pair back then.
Personally ( and depending on the car ), I would rather re-chrome as opposed to buying repro.

I had my 66 front bumper rechromed off my coupe in 2010 & that was $500....& he told me that he did it on the cheap.

Are they Stainless, they are showing a lot off blistering up both sides. I tried the magnet check, but I am told that some stainless is magnetic

I think they might be stainless, mine have now got a matt surface and show no signs of pitting or flaking. Not off topic but does anyone know about the rear bumper guards (the chrome things under the bumper) could those be polished too if I got the paint off them? Mine have been painted and look a little silly...
