Title: New Mustang in Qld
Post by: BLU302 on December 06, 2007, 11:29:57 am
Hi Guys,Finally got my mod plate and registered Presidential Blue 68 Coupe.Bought the car from Victoria and I'm really happy with it - was originally restored over 5 years but has been sitting around for the past 3 years.Planning to do a few modifications,first AC for Qld summer then maybe a few personal 'improvements'.Was originally a 289 but now a 302 with a mild cam.(Vic.reg TANG68-now for sale)
I'm sure I'll be seeking your help on this forum in the future(just sent in my $ for MOCA Qld membership.)   Bob ;{

Thanks Brett,I plan to cruise as much as possible.I'm new to muscle cars.My other car is a Subaru Liberty STi and my wife has a Mini Cooper S(supercharged), so it's a different experience but I'm really enjoying it.
My plan was to buy a car and restore it myself but it would have cost a lot more than I paid for this one.
Saying that I still plan to upgrade it in a few areas(It's a disease).
Bob
PS Your car looks pretty interesting too(if that's it in your avatar)

Sounds like a plan.We went on a cruise last weekend with the wife's Cooper S to Maleny.20 Minis around the twisties was great but it was probably a bit tight for the Mustang.

Brett- I look forward to seeing your car in the flesh-it looks pretty wild.I'm having problems with the electrics in my new ride.I just started it and the starter motor stayed engaged while it was running - had to pull the ignition lead to stop the motor and then the battery lead to stop the starter motor.I think it is tied in to the immobiliser fitted - it needs a 3 pin plug to disable it but seems to have problems - it's a bit scary.

Brekky run was good, about 21 cars went on it.  As usual it rained but food and company was good.  I am heading down to Sussex INlet next week in NSW for Christmas and two weeks of skiing.  Took the car out for a spin yesterday, the last one for the year.  Keen to go on a run in the new year though,

BLU302 is back on the road.I've replaced the original solenoid and the immobilizer fitted had an intermittent fault.So,should I source an original solenoid now and what am I going to replace the immobilizer with?

Dogs on their own arent much good (They cant use a fire extinguisher), but this one can climb over a six foot fence, so anyone coming in would be fairly keen

do you only keep one spare mag with you derwin? what about if you got into a hollywood type shoot out and needed an automatic rifle with a few hand grenades?

i got my secruity from autobahn. $160 installed and is immoblised to ignition and distributor.

my uncle told me that the best secruity is to pop the bonet, take out the distributor rotor and put it in ur pocket. its small so its wont be a nusence to you and the car deffinatly wont start without the rotor

My Dad used to take the rotor out as well, but the one time he forgot the car was stolen(Mark 2 Zephyr).
