Hi Guys,Finally got my mod plate and registered Presidential Blue 68 Coupe.Bought the car from Victoria and I'm really happy with it - was originally restored over 5 years but has been sitting around for the past 3 years.Planning to do a few modifications, first AC for Qld summer then maybe a few personal 'improvements'.Was originally a 289 but now a 302 with a mild cam.(Vic.reg TANG68-now for sale)
I'm sure I'll be seeking your help on this forum in the future(just sent in my $ for MOCA Qld membership.) Bob ;{

Welcome to QLD. Australia's best state...
-
:i;y :(
-
Sorry, I am from Qld. I bought the car from a bloke in Victoria. But I do agree.(about the best state)

Welcome Bob, where in Brissie are you..Any pics of the ride??
-
Hi Brett,I'm from Karana Downs - far west Brisbane.Haven't got any photos yet but I'll try to get some on the weekend.
Bob
-
No worries Bob, let us know if you are out cruising, I am in Underwood, and take the car out most weekends..
-
Thanks Brett,I plan to cruise as much as possible.I'm new to muscle cars.My other car is a Subaru Liberty STi and my wife has a Mini Cooper S(supercharged), so it's a different experience but I'm really enjoying it.
My plan was to buy a car and restore it myself but it would have cost a lot more than I paid for this one.
Saying that I still plan to upgrade it in a few areas(It's a disease).
Bob
PS Your car looks pretty interesting too(if that's it in your avatar)
-
Brett haven't seen or heard from you for a while have you been back to Mexico:2
-
Hi guys,
I am also new, bought the Mach1 70 Fastback when i was in US in August, had it for 3 weeks now.
Give me a yell when guys wanna go cruisin', i am at Yatala
Cheers
Scotty

Sounds like a plan.We went on a cruise last weekend with the wife's Cooper S to Maleny.20 Minis around the twisties was great but it was probably a bit tight for the Mustang.

Hiya Darryl, Nope, been working crazy long hours.. havent been back to Mexico.. but did get to melbourne.. so close enough huh... how was the Breakfast run?? am planning on going north this weekend .. you heading out skiing?? Yeah Bob, that is my "Mexican" ride as Derwin likes to call it.. some folks dont like the hole in the hood thing.. but it is my car and i wanted to do it,, so each to their own...:-
-
Brett- I look forward to seeing your car in the flesh-it looks pretty wild.I'm having problems with the electrics in my new ride.I just started it and the starter motor stayed engaged while it was running - had to pull the ignition lead to stop the motor and then the battery lead to stop the starter motor.I think it is tied in to the immobiliser fitted - it needs a 3 pin plug to disable it but seems to have problems - it's a bit scary.
-
Welcome Bob. Hope you can sort the wireing out and enjoy the ride.
Brett. Has the depth lessened yet?....
:+::(:+
-
Yes John, I am out of the hole.. and all is well.. at the moment :+
-
Brekky run was good, about 21 cars went on it. As usual it rained but food and company was good. I am heading down to Sussex INlet next week in NSW for Christmas and two weeks of skiing. Took the car out for a spin yesterday, the last one for the year. Keen to go on a run in the new year though,
-
Cool. so you have leave over Xmas?? Yeah, I should make more effort next year...;}
-
6 weeks leave baby, I won't know what to do with X-Mas and New years off except I think I will do a lot of :2
-
Holy smoke.. 6 weeks... lucky for some..
-
No luck with the wiring and it was a great day for a drive in the country;].
-
looking good young fella. its good to see that the younger generation can afford and do up there classic cars. we must encourage them to carry on the Mustang legacy:(
-
Oh most defiantly I couldn’t agree more with you!! ;y But I'd have to admit it wasn’t easy getting to were I am now. It was many weeks of a lot of hard ache and been poor ;]
But it is finally nice to sort of see the end of the tunnel out of the hole deal:+;_
-

What security does everyone use.
Bob
Ford Smartlock, Big son and a German Shepherd
Dogs on their own arent much good (They cant use a fire extinguisher), but this one can climb over a six foot fence, so anyone coming in would be fairly keen
-
Glock.45 with spare mag
-
Who do I give the gun to - My son or the Dog?
-
The smartest one:+
-
I suppose they will only try and steal it once...
-
Staying away from that one.:o
-
do you only keep one spare mag with you derwin? what about if you got into a hollywood type shoot out and needed an automatic rifle with a few hand grenades?
i got my secruity from autobahn. $160 installed and is immoblised to ignition and distributor.
my uncle told me that the best secruity is to pop the bonet, take out the distributor rotor and put it in ur pocket. its small so its wont be a nusence to you and the car deffinatly wont start without the rotor
-
My Dad used to take the rotor out as well, but the one time he forgot the car was stolen(Mark 2 Zephyr).

Thanks Peterp for putting my car's photo in my Avatar.Next I'll try to post some more pics.
