Hi All,
I have a 66 VC Valiant that needs the front bar straightened and re-chromed.
Is there anyone in Sydney that can straighten them before re-chroming ???
-
There is a guy on the central coast who is the gas. My mate's old man restores all the FX holden grills for Rare spares, and he sends stuf to him for chrome.
-
Ok Shaun I am interested - I have some bumper-bars that need re-chroming. How scary would the cost be?
-
Pity you're not in Victoria, Vinney's does a great job of repairing & replating.

I'll have to chase up Roy and find out who he is ,as I want some Jag ones done as well. The bloke a Dolley's Rocks Rd was ok as well. Last lot I had done by the old bloke a Wondal rd wynnum was $600 each. He charged me 290 for an MGA grill suround and to be truthfull it wasn't that good, lucky I'm selling it.

I do not want to sound like a tight-ass but at $600 a shot it would have to be a first class job.
I am still interested in the information if you get a chance.
So BLKBNY: What would the estimated price be in VIC?
-
Yeah and they weren't, hense why we need to find out who Roy uses, he did his 56 chev coupe bars I think as well. Chrome aint cheap, unless it's done in China it seems.
-
I think vinney said $300 or so , for used bars. I was quoted about $200 to rechrome new bumpers
-
$300 for the pair I would be very interested. I do assume it is a triple coat - meaning they don't (conveniently) forget the first copper coat?
I wonder what it would cost to get them to him?
-
Think it would be 300 each, Boof.

I can live in hope. Though I agree with you - if it is to good to be true then it most likely is. I have just read the sentence literally.
