blower dilema for 66
« on: September 22, 2009, 10:23:52 pm »
just finished building a windsor for my 66 and am looking for a paxton/novi 1200 blower kit for it... has anyone come across a kit or is anyone selling something similar...like the paxton setup as it seems to all fit under bonnet with no scoops and has the sealed air box for carby....engine was built to run 120-150 gas but think the blower would be more practical..car has 3.8 LSD rear with T5 conversion..engine and heads good for 450+hp and is currently making power/torque and still pulling at 7200 rpm...any help would be appreciated as i am new to this forum...cheers george

Why run one of those carby boxes, when you can just get a blow thru carb to suit?

Good luck making the T5 hold together..... the amount of torque should see 3rd gear complain pretty quickly

I have a 1200 Paxton and it fit under the bonnet nicely on my 65.  What sort of compression are you running, I would guess a little too high for a blower

i have a world class 93 GT T5/Toploader out of 4V 65 Mustang/C4 Auto..went with T5 as i thought it would handle it..any suggestions before i install it....all advice appreciated...thought T5 give more driveability with 5th gear ratio of .68 and diff gears of 3.8....good off the line and still cruise at 100k's at around 2200 rpm

comp is 9.3-1.  Running a tricked up C4 with an open 83/4 diff and 3.00 gears.  Going to change it to a trac lock and change the gears to a 3.50 I think.
