Tank Capacity + Spare Wheel Mach 1
« on: October 09, 2021, 07:32:12 pm »
Just taken delivery of a new Mach 1 - love it, is brilliant in so many ways but...........

There is no spare wheel, just a wheel well where it should have been and at 61l, driven with intent, 300kms might be a stretch....

Spare - yes there is a "space" and yes you can buy a spare BUT the rears and fronts are a different diameter and the aftermarket spare that fits and is available is, 31mm smaller diameter than the rear - 135/70/19. That is a problem. Sealant system supplied but actually useless if you trash a tyre, could carry a 4wd plug kit + compressor better but somebody must have solved this problem!

155/70/19 is very close to rear diameter so that is a chance!

Tank capacity - 61L is ridiculous - drive this car the way it is meant to be driven, Greta cover your ears, 20L per 100kms probable =300kms. Carry 2*20L not a great idea, Utilise the space of the empty wheel well, maybe.. Auxilliary tank, maybe - owned an M3 with a 15L extra tank.... Custom build? Have a '70 Boss rally car with 120L capacity and close to 700km range - built by Brown Davis but surely someone has come up with a better idea?? Fuels cell in road car usually illegal but.....

Suggestions???
