Rims & Tyres
« on: July 04, 2021, 02:11:10 pm »
Looking for 14x7 Superlite, Magnum 500, Torque Thrust style or other period correct rims with or without tyres for my '66 Coupe. I have 14x6 styled steel rims on the car now with 205/60 f and 225/60 r tyres i can reuse in need. Would also consider 15x6/15x7 options that wont rub guards. Car has stock ride height for now although I am planning a 1" front suspension drop shortly.

Ahh Dizzy, we meet again....but on a different post....
My advice would be to buy the style of rim you prefer as new items......that way you have the correct back space, offset, and center bore measurements suited.
Ride height and stance, and of course wheel/rim choice can make or break the look.

Once you come up with wheel/rim/tyre choice, you can work on getting the car to sit correctly with your lowering plan.

I am going with 15 x 8 Superlites all around and fitting them has it's challenges, but is not impossible.
Aussie Phil has a great looking stance on his 68 and I recall he has gone to 17's, So I am sure he can have some advice.

Hi Jimmy. Your car does look fabulous and I think the Superlites will be the way I head now. I think they will look great in a Titanium colour on my red GT. What size tyres are you running and do you have any guard rubbing issues. Is the car a '67?

Dizzy tyres are 195x75 on front and 245x70 i think , any way 26 inch tall on rear wheels have 4.5 inch back space no rubbing on a 67. Cheers.
