Carby/Throttle cable brackets
« on: December 20, 2020, 03:20:39 pm »
Hey Gents, wondering if anyone has any thoughts/recommendations for throttle cable brackets for a holley 750DP sitting on an edelbrock performer, there does seem to be a multitude to choose from, and also auto kick down combos, are the two interconnected?  running up the white flag again...,

Hi mate, I ended up making mine. Not too difficult. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures but started with some angle and a bit of welding, grinding, painting

Most of the time the  easy way is to just make one .  A piece of steel ,bent in a vice then a hole drilled at either end and the cable end a hacksaw cut so the cable can slide in . You can buy aftermarket cable and kick down brackets off e bay that will do the job also . Hope your  holley 750 DP has the kick down  arm .
Next question is ,why do you have a 750 DP on an edelbrock performer ? ,big carb on a stock replacement intake manifold . What’s the engine and mods ?

Thanks guys, thought there may be an obvious part to use, as the original will no way fit and the bracket that came with the manifold, well, no idea what that can be used for..., As for the manifold it's actually an air gap rpm, sitting on a 347. Recommended by many of the " far more knowledgable than me" on this forum

If you have $$$ lokar make some nice brackets and cables with strong spring returns. They just bolt straight under the carb like a spacer and come with all the brackets. I bought them years ago when dollar was good including kick down cable and throttle cable. Was really simple to install.
