Helix four link rear suspension HEXTT9K9
« on: July 26, 2017, 08:23:17 pm »
Hi guys,
Has anyone fitted a Helix brand rear four link suspension to a 68 Mustang coupe,  if so how did you go! Are you happy, did you need to cut much off the link arms.
I bought one some time ago and while my cars off the road stroking engine, I thought I'd have a go!
Model is HEXTTK9 complete with coilovers.
Thanks AussiePhil.

Hi all,
Well I've fitted the Helix four link and it was a piece of cake fitting it, rides great and I believe it gives better traction and ride!
Cheers AussiePhil

Put some pictures up, like to have a look at it. Any problem routing the exhaust to the rear?

Yes....I like to see some photos too. I have a 68 in my shop been fitted with a three link suspension by the previous butcher shop claiming it's ants pants. I have been trying to convince the owner to get rid of it and let me do it my way but poor bugger spent way too much money with previous butcher so I have to compromise.

You could upload them to postimages.org and then add the link on here.

The Helix is just a chinese copy of the heidts one, even the instructions are the same wording (https://www.instructionsnow.com/product/helix-suspension-brakes-and-steering/HEXTTK9WOS/?search=HEXTTK9WOS).

Here's an installation of the Heidts Kit.
http://www.mustangandfords.com/how-to/chassis-suspension/mump-0904-how-to-install-heidts-coilover-four-link-rear-suspension/

I've also seen the lower mounting brackets switched sides like this so they can be mounted inside the rails for extra clearance. The panhard bar just needs to be shortened then.

What was the quality like on the set up?  I'm thinking about the same kit.

Cheers,

Kevin.

Sorry Kevin I didn't get back to you, the quality is excellent,  fits like a glove, the prices have gone up though!
Helix is a copy of a much more expensive one, made in China? to American specifications!
The shocks are enrty level but all we need!
Cheers Phil.

Hi, I've only just finished putting the exhaust out the back, we had a new recruit coppa in town putting cars off the road.

Hi, I made the exhaust myself, had to go up over, down under and back up again!
Cheers Phil.

It's a shame I had to change the exhaust but rules are rules, cheers Phil.
