does anyone know if a tow bar can be fitted to current models?
if so, what is the tow rating (kg)?

If you hunt through the US mustang6 site you will find what the Americans call a 'hitch' - a towbar or tow point for we Australians.  There are photos which show a triangular shaped steel mount that is affixed under the rear of S550 models which has a neck in it just like our heavy duty towbars in Australia which allows for the actual tow bar/ball to be installed / uninstalled.  The fitting allows for a biker rack to fit to the ball.  With the bar / ball removed the fitting has minimal visual impact because it sits below the diffuser.

Just a few days ago I saw an S550 towing a small boat in Sydney.
While towbars (hitch) are available in the US, Ford Australia have not certified or rated the S550 Mustang to tow in Australia.
A towbar can be bought from the US but if you have an accident here while towing you are not insured.
