Swapped the stock gear knob for a GT350 one and fitted some Ford Performance bonnet struts  :burnout:

Fitted a K&N Cold Air Intake over the weekend. What a difference in sound, especially at full throttle, and a noticeable increase in go .... very happy .  Was an hour job all up, but I could reverse back to stock in less than half that if I needed to.

Its funny how quick kids learn to drive a car, yet fail to understand a lawnmower.

How would you describe the difference in sound with the addition of the cold air intake. I've fitted a Borla Touring cat back to mine and just wondering how one of these would go on mine in terms of sound, mainly at normal driving levels.

It now sounds like a V8 supercar .... pops and crackles on overrun and even when coasting you can hear its V8 burble. With the big H-Pipe it sounds proper muscle car at idle and on WOT it positively roars. At start-up I'm sure the neighbours are having fits too. It turns heads (even more than before).

At the moment at 1800rmin there is a bit of drone (slightly annoying especially that's 110 in 6th on the highway) but I'm led to believe that will improve over time.

For about $1200 fitted, its hard to go past this exhaust. Its beautifully made and fitment was easy with basic hand tools. I also only used my old ramps (thanks Supercheap) to lift and that worked a treat.

The intake was well worth it too in my opinion, considering I had a stock exhaust on it when I fitted it, it certainly made more (good) noise everywhere with a deeper sound under throttle.

I see Ford are now advertising the latest Mustangs. Does this mean they have cars to sell or are you still just put on a list. Are there still people out there still waiting for their ordered Mustangs?

What models are they selling? The models being sold in the states have many upgrades and some cosmetic changes. Is the six speed automatic still the current one available? is the line loc available on Australian models?

They only import V8 and 4 cal turbo Gary. No line lock for Australia but the Aus model is fully optioned (although fully optioned for Aus does not include everything). You can order the 2018 models but I don't know if they have pricing yet for them. 2016/17 models have the 6 speed auto. I believe the 2018 will have the 10 speed. Not sure about wait time.

Looks good buddy  :thumb: . I spoke to a guy the other night that owns a 2016 GT and was one of the 1st to order/ put his name down for the new model  coming and he has been told at least another 14-16 mths wait , and price should be around 74 grand drive away ,but that's a guess from the dealer .

Guess I'm too old school and when you are in your 60s not prepared to waste anymore life being stressed out waiting at Fords pleasure for a new car. I was even pissed off waiting six weeks back in 1974 for my XB GS Falcon!

Actually I'm too old school, might look for a 2015 write off and repower my favourite Mustang, the 69.

I had to wait longer than that for my XB GS ute. The excuse from Ford was they'd run out of tachos and were waiting for the supplier. It eventually took so long that the metallic blue I ordered was discontinued and it arrived in an awful non-metallic dark blue (I think it was called Marine Blue) and it was as bad as black - showing up every speck of dust.

Must have been Ford policy then!  My XB arrived after 6 weeks in Tropic Gold rather than the Burnt Orange I ordered and those crappy Ford mags rather than the twelve slots!

Fitted a Strut brace from a USA GT. Needed a tiny bit of modification to fit, but at AUD $250 landed, its a lot cheaper than the $1200 Ford wants or the $900 CJPony wants ....

Well, got approval from the minister for fun and recreation to .... buy a 2020 GT500 when (if) it comes to Oz. The GT will become hers then. By then we should be a 3 Mustang family as I am looking around for 65-68 GT as well.

And to tune this GT ASAP after its 1st service next month  :evilone:

What type of 65-68 GT are you after? In the next few weeks I will have a 68 GT 4 spd s code coupe up for sale - turn key car.

Do not know yet, thx mate, I'm new to old Mustangs specs and still researching them.  Would like a manual though, so a 4spd top loader coupe is certainly attractive.

Recently added Ford Performance lowering kit 1" all round and it certainly has improved the handling dramatically. Far less squat at the rear and front end lift under acceleration too  :pepper:

No noticeable drop in comfort on daily driving duties.

Also on the way is 85mm BBK Throttle body. Extra power is always welcome ...  :evilone:

Bit of a difference between the stock throttle body (80mm) and the new BBK 85mm one  :event: Easy fit, took me all of 30mins, if that.

Noticeable imrpovement in throttle response, might be a bit more power too ... BBK claims 12HP, are all those 12 horsies there? Can't say for sure .... did not really have space to test it (yet)  :burnout:

Theoretically this now has me at ~340kw (up from the stock 306) which is as far as I can go before adding a tune. That will be up next ....  :evilone:
