Keith, is that the roush quad system you have or the dual?

Keith got the dual tip (single). Same as the one I've ordered.

Just fitted the Borla atack catback to mine with high flow cats. May have to put hot dogs in sounds very mean but way too loud.

I have just put a deposit on a Borla 3 inch s-type cat back, but am hoping it is not 'way too loud'.....just a very deep loud rumble.......

Guess I will find out in a week!

Just had the Roush axle back installed. It was not the nice fit that was promised but with a little profession adjustment it was made to sit nicely. Had it installed with flanges rather the clamp on method. Makes for a good seal but also allows removal and I can put the old mufflers back on if needed . . . with the addition of a flange. I must say that the difference in note is staggering. With the windows up and a bit if gentle acceleration, you can hear a nice burble. At cruising rpm (around 2000), the note is good but not really loud inside the cabin. Harder acceleration, however, lets out a roar that sounds like a Mustang should. The system gives out a far more refined note than the Flowmaster American Thunder system in my '69. In short, I like it.

I just put my Roush axle back on last week. Fitted perfectly, just like the video from CJ Pony Parts showed. Agree 100%, love the sound- especially in sport mode or under acceleration.

Ok, so the 3 inch Borla S-type was installed on my 2015 GT Convertible yesterday.

At this point a big thanks to MikeG from Best Exhaust for advice and pointing me to EuroHaus for the installation of the system he supplied. Excellent job, even provided me with SMS photos of the process as the installation was taking place, est time of availability was met spot on.

But the bit you need to know about is the sound. In-freakin-credible. Loud? Yes. Deep Rumble? Yes. Quiet enough driving around? Almost - it is fairly loud even under mild acceleration, and if that's not your thing, maybe the Touring version is more the one for you. Do some research. I did, and am very pleased with the result.

And under heavy acceleration it is electrifying. To my mind, it now sounds everything like a muscle car should.

Yes I had a listen to the Borla S-type but a bit too loud for me so went for the Touring which arrived today. Can't wait to fit it.

I've read alot of posts about people worried about sound, so I thought I'd share with you some test results from our ADR testing of ALL of the Borla exhaust options.

Although the ADR tests turned out this way, wide-open-throttle sound levels from quietest to loudest will be:

1. EC-Type Catback
2. S-Type rear mufflers
3. ATAK rear mufflers
4. Touring Catback
5. S-Type Catback
6. ATAK Catback
7. S-Type 3" catback
8. ATAK 3" catback

I've driven a GT with the S-Type rear mufflers as well as with the S-Type catback - the increase is sound in incredible.

If its too loud, I can offer an EC-type or touring centre section for owners of 2.5" S-Type or ATAK catbacks, as this will bolt straight up and bring the noise level down.

I have one of each 2nd hand (after testing) which I'll sell for 10% off.

This weekend Fri-Mon I'm offering 15% off all orders (voucher code BLKCYBER), so get in quick.  I'll do the 2nd hand mufflers for 20% off during this period (msg me).

Note, 2nd hand means they were used for 5 minutes to do a noise test - these are basically new and waiting in Canberra for immediate dispatch.

I got an atack! It was wayyyyy to loud. Ended up putting twin Magnaflow hotdogs in the back.

Also if you look at the x pipe Borla make its more a h pipe with a hole blown through so I remade this section and did highflow cats.

Personally I wouldn't get the atack again it's just not practical for road use.

I could have sold you a bolt on touring exhaust that would have quietened down the Atak system

Just out of ineterest, there is a 3 inch S-type Cat Back @100 db and an S-type Cat Back @ 104 db?

Both seem to produce different sound volumes, so I am guessing they are different systems?

Yes, there is a 2.5" and 3" version of these systems.  If not specified, it is the 2.5" system.

Got my Borla Touring cat back fitted this morning. Very happy with it, nice growl but not over the top.

Hey I whacked this on my 2015 GT ( manual )
http://www.americanmuscle.com/pypes-pypebomb-polished-2015gt.html

Sounds amazing - when dropping off at the dealer for service they where amazing how good it sounds ( they said best exhaust they've heard on the pony )  - lovely crackle on down gearing too

You do get a little drone at the start ( as it's a muffler delete system ) but after they wear in a bit it dies down ( I honesty don't hear / notice it anymore )

For what you get and cost - can't got wrong - watch the before / after video above

Very interested in the S-type catback system, and all discussions seem to indicate its the middle group between the touring and atak, but did your testing (ADR graph) result in the s-type 2.5in system being the loudest?

The testing done uses the ADR testing methodology which does not accurately highlight the loudness of an exhaust system under normal use, rather it has the car sitting motionless and with revs at a medium level.

As you've said, the S-Type would be midway between Touring and ATAK is loudness generally, although it should be noted that a Touring is a S-Type with a middle muffler, and the ATAK has a completely different muffler setup altogether, so it will sound quite different.

S-Type tends to be the most popular...

The Pype-bomb sounds great, and won't break the bank.  Does any Oz company do a similar, as the freight is half the price???

Anyone here in Sydney with their GT fitted with the Borla S-type catback system ... really interested in it, but would really like to hear it before buying.
Cheers

Yep. Mine has the 3 inch S-Type.

It is loud, proper muscle car loud in my view. Not extreme, but a long way from quiet. At cruising speed it is quiet, but you get a lovely grown under acceleration.

And I love it! Mrs Jason loves it as well.
