Help with a Paint code for Wimbelton White ?
« on: December 17, 2012, 10:54:56 am »
Hi all,
I need to know what the paint code would be for my 66 coupe, it says  M on the door tag and I have been given a DITZLER code that reads 8378 but the  paint shop says that means nothing to them ?? so if any of you good people have any idea of a code I could give them,I would really love to hear from you.

  Regards John.

The code is M, the ditzler code will mean nothing to most places in Australia. Do you know what paint system they are using? It could be they just dont have a formula for it.

Guys it's actually spelt "Wimbledon" White.
My original Wimbledon White 67 Coupe has this following paint code confirmed on my MARTI report!
Ford#1619-A
Hope this helps!

Hi All,
Not sure if the information is there but we have built up quite a few links from forum members on the website.

You only need two tools in life - WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the Duct Tape.

Pick a color you like and go with it.  Take "Wimbledon White" from 3 paint vendors and they will all be different...

Hi guys,
thanks for your replies and yeah I still find it strange that they don't get the code I gave but when I said it was called Wimbledon  :agree: white he just nodded and said yep no worries,I left him a boot lid and he said that he will mix it according to the chart and test spray and if its chalk and cheese he will match but if its real close he wont so if I need more paint in the future it wont be a big deal,he also said that it had been sprayed before and that it might not be the exact same color as factory anyway,so i thought well it is a full bare metal respray so it should be ok ?

Dupont or Speice Hecker will recognise this code. It is still a valid ford colour. Glasurit will know it as well in their classic range.

Thanks to all you guys for your help,
I was told that it was a simple mix once I told them it was Wimbledon White and he sprayed out a card and it was a match to the part I had so all worked out in the end I'm just hoping all goes well tomorrow as I have a very busy next few days ahead and am trying to get the car up and going for the 20th of Jan which is the All American day and coincidentally MY BIRTHDAY LOL! I'm not holding my breath as I need to put the side glass in the doors once I hang them and I cringe just thinking about it ,but hey its worth a shot  :thud:

  Cheers all.
