I have a PBR VH40 remote booster on my 69 mustang that has failed an I was wondering if anyone has rebuilt one and is it rebuildable in the shed or is it something better left to professionals. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Cheers Coops

There are new replacements that are knock off versions of the PBR unit on Ebay going real cheap, under $100, or rebuild kits if you want one.
Genuine PBR is about $500.
See what suits you.

The $100 units on eBay are the VH44 model units that are for four wheel drum brakes. My Mustang has disc/drums so I'm not sure if it will work. There's not much in the kit so I'm thinking of rebuilding the original PBR VH40 unit that I have. I'm wondering if they are hard to rebuild.

Not sure about how hard they are to rebuild yourself, but know these guys here in SA have a very good reputation for doing it:

Thanks Dwayne. I have sent them an email.

Sorry about that. Got confused with VH44.

No problem. I love the way you guys take the time to offer up some priceless advice when I'm scratching my head. Cheers Coops
