Title: Wheel cylinders and brake shoes for a 65
Post by: 65muzzy on February 03, 2021, 05:20:12 pm
Hi all,
I’m after rear wheel cylinders and brake shoes for a 65 mustang. Any recommendations in Sydney. Any particular brand that people have used and are happy with. I’m also happy to rebuild my wheel cylinders. Can this be done?
Thanks in advance.

I have bought stuff from Sydney mustang not brake parts but the guy is good
all brake parts are cheap, check you wheel cylinder size first two sizes available and if your drums are already oversize you will need oversize shoes and certainly will if you have them machined. everything is available expect backing plates

As far as wheel cylinders go I have found through experience with my other early Ford that while you can buy replacement wheel cylinders the quality is questionable. I ended up getting my original 1940 wheel cylinders redone with stainless liners and throwing the repo ones away after they leaked for the second time.
