Does anyone know the part numbers for the front disc brake pads for a 65 Mustang disc brake conversion?

You might have to take them out and take them into a store like Bursons so they can do a match up . If they can not match them up with any you might have to get them rebonded or order a new set from the USA .

Sometimes the pad will have a part number on the back. Otherwise, put up a photo of the caliper and someone may be able to tell you what it is off.

What conversion have you got?
Is it just the KH style calipers or something more modern that was adapted to fit?

It' the Kelsey Hayes style, so I'm hoping these are just a regular brake pad that can be ordered from somewhere like Repco?

Any of the local mustang suppliers will be able to help you then, I'm guessing most would carry a consumable like them in stock

I was just hoping to order a set through Supercheap or Repco, or Bursons... I don't know what to order though at the moment. I do see disc pads for a 65 Mustang listed at various stores, but will these fit what I have?

dont order any ordinary brake pads, been there done that.
a few of us have found EBC 'green stuff' or better yet 'red stuff' pads are brilliant with KH calipers.
they're way more expensive than then garden variety SD's but totally worth it, ill check the cat# as i put some new red ones in 2 weeks ago.
(ill blame ShaunP for putting me onto them years back) :cheers:

the likes of supercheap will probably have to order their brands in (ie bendix), any correct pad will work, i just have a preference for EBC red or green because theyre way better than anything else ive fitted and others whove used them will say the same.
if your setup is per that picture you posted then they look like std KH calipers.
EBC red stuff DP31157 will fit these or green stuff are a bit cheaper but excellent as well.
it depends what your budget is though mate!

Are the ones listed around the place all based off the Kelsey Hayes set up? If I ordered Bendix for a 65 Mustang, will those fit?

Yes, they should. But, the Bendix DB1807 that Supercheap lists, is incorrect. I don't think Bendix Australia carrys the 65-67 D11 KH pads

correct. bendix didn’t have them listed at all, i’ve looked through their dealers catalogue that has full scale outline drawings of pads.
the only luck you may have is finding them listed as ‘67 mustang or XR falcon V8 with KH, i lost interest in finding average brake pads to be honest.
taheer if cost is an issue then just get the scott drake replacements from a mustang dealer like Sydney Mustangs or Harry’s.

In America, the Bendix pads are $22. EBC, Porterfield R4-S, and Hawk HPS will cost at least 6 times that. The Bendix pads are definitely average.

hey andrew. i see you’re in brisbane i bought my first set from a brake specialist in Capalaba while up there some years back, but recently got slotted RDA rotors and EBC red pads from my local PEPS auto parts.
i did all the enquires first with RDA in Brisbane who referred me to PEPS down here in southern sydney.

footnote: after a month of bedding in the discs and pads i did some serious braking at speed down Bulli Pass south of Sydney, those who are familiar will know how steep and long it is and it’ll test how much brake fade you’ll get by the bottom, i was extremely pleased with how good they performed to say the least. all up they cost $550. well worth it

I also installed RDA slotted/dimpled rotors & EBC Redstuff pads a few months back. I'm now getting less fade & more bite. I was concerned about cold braking but was pleasantly surprised. 3-4 times the price of others but worth every cent. I'm running the Commodore caliper/Falcon rotor setup and have tried at least 5 different pads. The only ones that worked were Remsa & EBC. I've always been happy with Bendix in the wife's car but for some reason, they just wouldn't bite in the Mustang.

Sure does!! I just can't justify $250 for a set of brake pads. I think I have found a good alternative though and will give these a try. While looking for a good brake pad, I did have a sales Rep say that he thought EBC were overpriced for what you get. Who knows, so I will see how I go.

Ha when a sales rep says something is overpriced, its usually their oppostion's superior product they're referring to....
(price is never a problem for me, if its worth it ill pay it :thumb:)

I would normally agree but not in this case. After buying so many different brake pads, master cylinders, rotors, pressure tester & God knows what else, the $200 odd I spent on Redstuff pads was money well spent. I'd hate to think how many hours I poured into chasing my braking issues. I've always been a fan of Bendix but in this particular case, they wouldn't pull up the car. Possibly something to do with my conversion but I've heard others on this forum requiring EBC pads with their KH brakes.
Give the cheaper pads a try & if they don't work, go the Reds.

Just call Stewart at Brake Place Mitcham, he'll get them in for you.
Note, Stewart will recommend that you use Redstuff, as suggested by the manufacturer. Greens are rated for smaller cars, below 200BHP.

Thanks Evan, I called Stewart and he was extremely helpful but unfortunately the Aust distributor has none in stock.
Before I order overseas can someone confirm #DP31157C is the correct EBC Red Stuff pads for KH style front calipers ?.
Just call Stewart at Brake Place Mitcham, he'll get them in for you.

Plus 1 - for EDC Redstuff disk pads. My 69 sports roof was 4 wheel drum car. Now has after market booster with mustang 1" dual MC, RRS front suspension-VT Commodore disk and callipers. 351C has Cam and produces 15 in vacuum. Brake pedal has always been heavy and lacked urgency to stop. I have been collecting parts to install a 12v vacuum pump and tank but installed a set of EDC Redstuff pads today. Went for test drive to start bedding them in and locked up the fronts wheels on forth peddle application. Peddle feel has improved out of sight and brakes feel like they have bite and I have only driven 20 km. BIG :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: for EDC Redstuff from me :pepper: :burnout:
