Title: 67 mustang rear gards are rubbing
Post by: shelby_mustro on August 13, 2015, 08:34:46 am
Hey all does anyone know where I can go to get my rear gards rolled?? Everytime I have two or more people in the car or it hits a bump in the road that inside lip is hitting the otter edge of the tyre out. I'm on the Gold Coast

I have a guard roller that I used on the front of my 67 no problems.  It's the one that bolts to the hub and has a skateboard wheel on it.  I also have a heat gun to soften the paint.

I'm in Brisbane if you want to give it a go.  All care no responsibility.

Yep I think so also not worth damageing the paint. Will cost a lot more then $120 if I do.

I'm just wondering what size you guys are fitting to the rear of your 67s?

I've got 17x9 on the back with 245s and there is still heaps of room.  I could go to 265s without rolling the guards.

I'm running 17x8 with 225/50/17s, need to roll the guards just a bit.

When I owned a 68 I had 15x8 with 255x60 on the back and it was lowered 2 inches all round and had plenty of room because I had the right offset on my rims . The offset is where you can go wrong .

I have coys 17x7 front and rear 17x8 even put a low profile tyre on almost hits all four corners

So I have 17x8 with 225s on the front that needed rolling just at the top.  The rear are 17x9 with 245s and have maybe 15cm to go to the guard without rolling.  Both are 4.5" backspace I think.

The front is lowered so if it was stock height there would be no problem.

What profile are your tyres?  Surprised you have so much room in the rear.

The rear are 245x45 17 and the front are 225x45 17.  The speedo over reads by 2mph at 60.
