Title: 1970 Boss Parts
Post by: robgarns on March 17, 2014, 04:07:58 pm
Anyone restoring a 1970 Boss 302 let me know - I am going to have a bunch of parts available shortly from a quite well restored car. [see attached]

Will include genuine engine/4v heads/gearbox/Hurst shifter/Diff/front and rear brakes/front and rear seats/door trims/carpet/spare wheel/console/radiator/fuel tank/exhaust and probably lots more.....

Long [and stupid!] story - we are converting the original car into a long distance Peking/Paris rally car for 2016 - out with the original parts and in with the new. In reality it will never be converted back to a road car so I would rather the original parts go to someone who is restoring a car. Car was running perfectly before we started to strip it - heads are off

Have not priced anything as yet, will wait till it is all out. If interested, let me know and I will keep you informed

Yes it is a space saver - no idea what would happen if you blew it up but is original! Really want to sell as a complete package.....

Car all finished and has done it's first event 8000 km "The Road to Mandalay" starting in Singapore, into Malaysia, Thailand and back through Burma - very happy with it as a shake down for Peking to Paris, this time next year.

Came in 6th, could have been 4th if we knew how to run "Regularities" a bit better!! Peking to Paris a different event entirely - 13,000 kms and 5,000 of that is literally "no roads" across Mongolia. Lot's of little things we have learnt, upgrading to 4 wheel discs, adding yet more strengthening to the front suspension and towers - if anything a bit too much power for gravel... No Mustang has ever done any good in Peking/Paris but no Mustang has ever been as well built as this one!

Clarence Tang took a whole bunch of photos - link to see them all - http://www.tangcla.com/galleries/70-ford-mustang-boss-302/ (http://www.tangcla.com/galleries/70-ford-mustang-boss-302/)
