All Ford day is on again at Willowbank raceway July 16 . Great day ,show and shine and drag racing and much much more . I might give my new mustang a run down the strip :burnout:
-
Hi Glen,
Do you know how many runs you can do for $30 entry fee for Drag ?
-
Who knows  it depends how many cars line up on the day . It's more of a show day than a drag day so it should be ok . Don't forget a helmet ,long pants, shoes, and a long sleeve jacket / top . I think they run the drags for a couple of hours .

Yes, Thanks mate. Organised a helmet last night, keen to see how Stock (almost) Ecoboost does in 1/4 mile. I am hoping for comfortable 14s :burnout:
-
All good :thumb: and remember if it's an auto put it in track mode with traction control off and let it change gears not you  no paddle shifting . A mid to low 14 is what it should do :burnout:
-
Well I didn't race today ,they canned my helmet  it was out of date ,I wasn't the only one hey 69 ish

What are the date rules? I've got a CAMS accredited one I don't use anymore.

Use to be , AS - 1698 now has to be AS-NZS 1698 . They stopped plenty of people today .
-
14.1 Sec @ 98Mph :pepper: best of 3 runs (14.3 & 14.4), paddle shift in track mode :burnout:... a bit more prep could have got me 13.9s.... may be next time :smile01:
-
:toetapping: now did you try in track mode in drive NOT paddle shift ? You won't beat the computer :smile01: Traction control off ?
-
Hi Glenn,
I missed to read your suggestion to test the computer ....QLD S550 Owners club planning a Mustang only event at willowbank ... May try then :thumb:
-
Are they ,gee I would love to come to that and get my bum kicked
-
In most cases going from paddle shift to sports mode and letting the car shift itself can drop the times no problems . I had 2 mates race their FG - XR 6 turbos and both dropped around 1/2 second when I told them about this ,same with Ryan with his new mustang turbo .
-
Hey mate my 4cyl mustang does 13s down the quater Mile. It made 291.5 on the Dyno at the all ford day. Few light upgrades can get them cars to fly.
-
Not as quick as my V8 tho :lmao: Well I hope not anyway
-
Well I missed out running on all Ford day last Sunday BUT I'm going to give it a run tomorrow at Willowbank . 12s here I come :burnout: I hope

Finished fitting my new kitchen today so had some time to investigate helmets. My AS 1698 that I previously used for circuit work is trash.
RE: Helmets at Willowbank.
The Willowbank website states ... http://www.willowbankraceway.com.au/pages/?PageID=89
• Helmet Requirements - IHRA licence holders are to abide by the current IHRA rule book at any event. At Race Ya Mate and Street Series events we allow street vehicles (i.e. - non IHRA licence holders) to use the AS/NZS 1698 min standard helmet.
However, CAMS sanctioned events no longer allow any 1698 series helmets.

Well I ran a few 12.9s tonight at 108 .8 mph . That's as good as it will do in std form .

Nice time Glenn - same as Motor Trend achieved in a 2016 six speed manual with "performance package".
