I am from Texas and I plan on attending this show again. I flew in to see it in 2009. I went to the show with my two good friends Ryan and James. I had a great time and all you Australians were very kind to this Texan. There was a lot of very nice Mustangs and there Australian owners. Very lovely country to. I hope to meet some more nice friends to while I am there. This time I am planning to stay 21 days instead of 14 days if the boss will let me.
Cheers

-
Thanks mate.
That's the plan. Just trying to scrape up the the money to go. I e-mailed Jimmy and told him of my plans. If I make it you need to take me to the drag strip and some car shows to.
Cheers

And you have to be a MOCA member to put your mustang in the show .

Glenn I don't think that will be happening Craig is from Texas I think he just wants to visit to see the show and catch up with some of the other club members.
-
Yes that's fine but what I am saying if we want to show our mustangs you can't unless you are a current MOCA member , even for the show and shine . Anyone can go in and have a look .
-
Yes I dont know why the mustang club does this they would get a lot more cars if they opened this up. I think u can still bring ur car to the show
-
Yes you can still bring your mustang / pride and joy BUT can only park it in the public car park ,unless a MOCA member and parking in the show only has limited space .
-
Well I got my plane tickets to fly to Australia and check out the Mustang car show. :event: :event: :event: Just two months away. Looking forward to this.

I have to agree with Glenn70 and living only couple of hours away from the Gold Coast and being a financial member of MOCA NSW I don't think I will make the effort to attend. The event organisers seem to be only catering to the well heeled who have the highest class cars and forgetting that the greater population of Mustang owners are all driver quality cars and not trailer queens.
I have had first hand experience of the snobbery and aloofness of the QLD branch of MOCA at an All Ford Day in QLD last year.
Having first joined MOCA in 1989 and after a lapse of many years I rejoined having acquired a couple of Mustangs to support my craving I don't think I will reup my membership.
Last time I looked Mustang ownership was not a spectator sport bound over by Club rules, they were built to be driven the more the merrier I say.

Dyates I'm not complaining about the show . What I am saying its a shame its only for MOCA members and not all mustang owners that wish to display there mustangs and maybe get some recognition for there mustangs . On another note they can go to any other car show if they wish .
-
Have to agree with you Dyates. On all counts.
-
What about an unofficial get together at the Back Page. Just down the road, big car park out the back and if my memory services me correctly , nice cold beer.
-
Correction . Thought it was at Royal pines again. Nearest car park with a cold beer probably Fisho's at the Spit ?
-
Hey guys its a show for all MOCA members to show there mustangs so be it .

Maybe that is why it is called the MOCA Nationals, club member or not it is a club event
-
Is this Exclusive event open to the general public?.
-
Well my plane leaves Wednesday the 25th will be there Friday morning. Flying in from Texas. I plan on being there until April 3rd. I hope to meet some more new friends. I will be with Shelby_Mustro. Look for his cars and come up to me and say hi. I will be taking plenty of pictures to share with my friends at home in Texas.
-
Its open to the general public for viewing of the cars on display . You have to be a current MOCA member to display your car .
-
I'd say they do this because it's limited space & people with there mustangs all over Aus are coming for the show. There are so many mustangs around I'd see them having a hard time fitting them all into the show if it was a open book.
Looking forward to catching up too Craig I bet this will be a better show then the 50th in Vegas ha.
