Check the earth connections. There should be at least two, one from the negative battery post to the engine block and another from the engine block to the body. i.e. remove and check for corrosion then if found clean and resecure.

My instance killed everything - not the best thing when you're at the servo trying to fill up. At the time I put it down do the starter solenoid or the switch and firstly replaced the solenoid as it was the easier thing to do. After finding no change, replacing the switch fixed everything.

Solenoid wiring may be wrong. Post a picture so we can check. The big post on the solenoid that is connected to the battery should also have a smaller wire that connects into wiring loom note these wires should be on the same post. The other post will send power to the starter.
