Title: Advice about getting an agent and shipping
Post by: MustangMatthew on November 29, 2021, 02:41:07 pm
Hi everyone,

I've found a Mustang in Massachusetts and I live in NSW. Was just wondering if anyone here has bought a car from that area and if they'd recommend an agent to go and look at it, as well as a shipping company they'd recommend.

Thanks in advance!

Send Matt an email, he is based in USA so can look at the car for you.

Depends on what kind of inspection you require and how much you're willing to spend.

If you want someone who really knows classics and can go over the car with a fine tooth comb, Shermatt have a good reputation but will cost you a few grand plus you have to pay their travel expenses.
If you just need an agent to verify the car is what it's supposed to be, take plenty of photos and give general feedback on condition and a test drive then I've found Lemon Squad to be reliable and cost effective.

As for shipping, I recently used TGAL partnered with DAZMAC and they were OK.  If asbestos testing is a concern for you, TGAL is one of very few companies in the US that's accredited to do this before the car is exported.
