Yeah awesome....I bet that torque down low from that eaton is sensational to drive
-
It should be a blast - I replaced the Eaton with a Gen II 2.3L Whipple. Only 14lbs but 575rwhp is a great outcome.
Should get it back tomorrow or Thursday at the latest...
-
Are you going to buy shares in a tyre manufacturer?
-
Wow! Nearly a thousand NM of torque!
Did you get it home without breaking the rest of the driveline?

Woops didn't look at the pics hard enough. What size whipple is it? Whipples are awesome, so much more efficient than the eaton

Ah, missed that bit. So I guess he couldn't take it straight home 'cos the diff broke on the dyno.

Ah. They want to test the cold start/cold run tune, then it's all mine I guess...
I have a new set of hoops ready to go on. I have a feeling the current ones are living on borrowed time

Hi Jeff, fantastic mate. Long overdue. Impressive figures. Running 98?
Who ended up tuning it? So want S/C for mine.......
Looking at Procharger set up for the future.
Have to have a look.....
-
Hi Steve
APS in Frankston tuned it, as recommended by Rob Herrod.
Runs 98, but we went for a 3' upper pulley which lowered the boost down from about 18/19lbs (with the 2.75' upper) to 14-odd just for a little more margin of error, especially when the ambient air temp is hot.
Whatever FI you go with, consider using an intercooled setup, it's important for lowering the intake air temps, which is critical to prevent detonation.
A lot of people run Procharger setups (or similar) in the US, great for initial torque but flattens out a little at the top end. Tuning experience is critical, as is the tuners ability to access the right tools/software/tuner.

Copy that mate. Let us know how it ends up.

ok - after a weekend of cruising:
There's still a bit of a hesitation when the first 1/8th throttle is applied, it improves as the car warms up but it's still there, will take it back at some stage for a tickle-up. Idle is still a little high - about 1000rpm when warm, but it runs nicely.
Tires are toast, I have some newer ones to go on, hopefully it'll hook up a little more readily.
Currently just spins up - on the throttle only - in second up to about 60-70kph if you're too aggressive, and about half the time in 3rd up to about 100Kph. Haven't had it over 5,500rpm yet (just doesn't seem to be a need) but certainly needs better brakes - I have a pair of 4-pot Brembo's from a 2000 Cobra R about to go on, plus some better fluid so we'll see if that restores some braking confidence.
Got my new wanker plates....

Real nice mate. Makes me feel like bolting a Rouche Charger on my S550.
-
What size injectors were you using? Would that make a difference?
Man, I want to come down and have look soon. Big brakes for sure needed.
Love the number plates. How many demerit points do you have????
-
Hi Steve
60lb injectors, yup - can't wait for the Brembo's!! Will also change the fluid, not sure if that's causing some of the brake fade issues. After the front brakes were redone, I would have thought they were great - but not...
-
With that power consider a parachute!

I think I've lost 4, and I think I've just lost another one.... But that doesn't count because it was in the Mondeo...
-
Hey Jeff how is it going now??
-
Surprisingly, time for some new rear tires! PM sent on some other gremlins that I'm thinking about..
-
Hey Jeff how is the Termi going?
Question: Are your headers the standard ones that came on ours??
Would long tube headers from USA fit ours without hitting anything??
Looking at changing my system OR replace existing cats with high flow cats (all four)
Whats your thoughts?
Jiffy might also like to comment....

Hi Steve
Car is good - a little rich when cold and the air is warm/thin, so with the error codes from the rear O2's still being thrown, I'll get the tune tweaked at some stage.
Using the original short headers that came with our car, and I replaced all four cats with a pair of hi-flo cats and a 3 inch exhaust when I went to the Terminator driveline - I would expect a pair of long-tubes from the US would foul on something AND be useless without some sort of power adder. You might gain a few extra HP (and I do mean a few), but a re-tune is likely to yield the best bang-for buck for a normally aspirated car IF you can find someone to tune it.
-
Rob herrod is a knob. I went there around 2016 and he was a ride prick who didn't even want to talk to me and his mechanic spoke to me but knob herrod said he didn't tune those Mustangs and he didn't even recommend anyone to me.

That's one great rear end and nice plates
