Title: 10 x 2.5" drum brake "pins"
Post by: skip70 on April 01, 2014, 09:53:16 pm
Problem, I have some new long version pins for a brake rebuild, but they seem too short. These pins hold the linings to the backing plates. How many versions of these pins are there does anyone know? The ones I have are about 60mm overall. Looking at it I would say that about a 66mm pin would go close? Anyone?

Ok, this wasn't an April fools joke really! the long pins or "nails" measure about 60mm as stated and I think would fit 2 1/4" linings but not the 2 1/2" ones. Any GTHO experts out there?

Found the answer, there are at least 3 different length pins. One length for the 2" shoes, One length for the 2 1/4" shoes and One length for the 2 1/2" shoes which are only a couple of mm's longer than the 2 1/4's. Mystery solved.
